The tryouts for our boys and girls 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grader select teams will take place the week of October 29th at Glencoe High School. The head coaches for the select youth basketball teams, the personnel for Glencoe Youth Basketball and the Glencoe High School basketball coaching staff will run the tryouts. Each grade level will have two days of tryouts. The coach's decisions on the players who make each team are final. Players will be notified via the email address given for the Parent/Guardian given in this registration form.
Key Change This Year: We will only be having one team per grade level for each boys and girls. So the girls will have one team for each grade: 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th, and the boys will also only have one team for each grade: 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. It will be up to the coaching staff on how many players to carry on each team.
Here is some additional information regarding Glencoe Youth Basketball's select teams:
Your child is trying out for one of our 8 select teams, which requires a higher level of commitment from both the player and the family. This includes multiple practices a week, games on the weekend, and travel to some of the games.
The Glencoe Youth Basketball select teams are for the kids living within the Glencoe High School boundaries.

Parent Meeting on November 6th @ Evergreen Middle School
Following the week of team assignments, we will have a parent meeting for some general information on the season and quick parent/coach meetings.
This year we are level setting all teams with one set fee of $275 per player.
There is a tryout fee for all players of $15 which is collected during the registration process for tryouts. The tryout fee is non-refundable, even if the player does not show up for tryouts. This fee goes towards such things as the equipment, operations, and insurance needed to run a successful tryout.
If your child makes the team, then the tryout fee will be applied to the total player fee for a remaining $260. This $260 will be collected following the parent meeting. There are options for families that have difficulty making the full payment, including payment plans and financial assistance for qualifying families. Please contact Jeff Eischen
for questions about financial assistance.
If you are registering two or more players in your family, you will receive a 10% discount on each player's registration fee.
In order for the registration system to recognize that you are registering multiple players, please register all of your players at this time. On the Review Page, there is a link near the bottom to "Register Another Player" - please click on this link to ensure that all of your players are registered within the same order.
***Failure to do so will result in a forfeiture of your Family’s discounted rates.***
CODE OF CONDUCT
You and your child will be required to adhere to a code of conduct at the tryout and on the team. This includes respecting all players, coaches and parents. If problems arise where you or your child are unable to adhere to the code of conduct, then the Glencoe Youth Basketball organization will take action, which may include removing your child from the tryout or team.
THE GAME OF BASKETBALL
We are teaching your child the game of basketball. The game itself is meant to be fun and challenging. The tryouts will be hard work, and we will not be able to keep every kid that tries out. Even if your child does not make one of the competitive teams, we want your child to continue to play the game of basketball. A great option is through Hillsboro Parks and Recreation. More information will be given on the Hillsboro Parks and Recreation program at our tryouts.
